Catching up

Last night I met up with a friend who I haven't seen for years. We grew up together but stopped talking in our last year of secondary school. We met up together with our mums, who are also friends, not long ago as an ice-breaker having not spoken for 5 years, but last night we went out on our own.
It was a bit awkward last time with a few silences and I thought we'd only be out for about an hour this time thinking we'd have nothing to talk about due to not having been in touch and changing so much, but we were out until 11pm chatting! We went to the local pub and sat outside - even though as it got darker it got colder.
I had a couple of vodkas and had my first Malibu and coke, which I surprisingly liked and we talked about things we've done since we were at school and what we're doing now.

We've arranged to go out again on Wednesday to the cinema at Bristol to see The Time Travelers Wife and I'm looking forward to it.
