- I enrolled at College, so I am now a full time worker and part time student.
- I bought a new car because mine would have been written off due to the accident I had a while ago.
- I attended the Summer Ball in Weymouth, where we own a caravan and had a picture taken with a salesman I fancy!
I attend college 2 nights a week doing a Creative Writing Course and A level Psychology. It's hard work having the motivation to go and also do the homework, especially as when I get home it's late and the next day I have to go to work. Also, on the weekends I sometimes go away so I either have to do it while I'm away or try and put something together on an evening when I'm knackered and really can't be bothered! At first I really didn't understand Psychology, it's getting a bit better now but there are still a few things which go straight over my head.
I love my writing class because everyone is there for their love of writing and everyone has their own ways of writing and opinions on different styles. Our first assignment was to a descriptive piece on either a place or a person but keep it below 250 words. I first thought that I would be obsessed with the word limit and wouldn't be able to concentrate enough to actually write anything good, but I managed to do a really good piece on an old library / book shop.
Firstly I really wanted to do a description of Rob, the salesman in Weymouth that I like, but when I wrote notes and tried to think of things to write I couldn't get anything. I ended up writing a really good piece about him while I was sat on reception at work on the afternoon of the class and even though it had only taken me about half an hour and I had taken ages on my place, I think it was better. That's the way I do my best writing sometimes. I can plan for ages of what I want to write or sit down and think 'I'm going to write this and it's going to be this long', but then I don't get anything because it's forced and when I'm not planning on writing anything sometimes ideas just pop into my head and I find that I've written a really good piece.
My tutor liked both of them and gave me really good comments. She's a really nice lady and I can see myelf getting on well with her. The first time we met she was convinced she knew me from somewhere, but as far as I can recall it was the first time I had set eyes on her!
I've brought a brand new car!! It's a Suzuki Swift, metallic silver and has arrived at the dealership today! I was told I might have to wait up to 8 weeks for it, but I had a call while I was at work today to let me it had been delivered, but I won't be able to collect it yet because I haven't saved up enough money to pay for it yet! I've set up the finance and just have to wait until I hae enough money and my petrol has run out and I can drive around in it! It was the 3rd car I test drove and as soon as I got in it I really liked it and found that everything was in the right place for me and it was really easy to drive.
The summerball happens every year at the holiday camp, but we didn't go last year as we were on holiday in Scotland, which was already booked before we bought the caravan. I wasn't planning on going because the dress code was formal and to be honest I'm more of a casual dresser! Mum and John, her partner were going and I was planning on either staying at home or going down to the caravan but staying in while they went. It was only when I was on holiday with my cousin and the receptionist, Damian persuaded me to go. I was really worrying about what I would wear as I wanted to look nice but I didn't want to feel uncomfortable.
In the end I wore a smart black top, trousers and a blazer - which I took off as soon as I got through the door! The club, where it was held was decorated so different that we didn't recognise it when we walked in.
After a few drinks I went to the bar and mum managed to take a picture of Damian hugging me with Rob joining in! It was one of the best moments of my life! I've got the picture stuck on my computer at work and also one of Damian and Rob smiling directly at the camera. I've never looked forward to going to work so much!
That's enough for now, my wrists are starting to hurt. I'll try and write again soon, but I wouldn't hold your breath that it will be that soon!
