Based on a novel by Ned Vizzini, Craig (Keir Gilchrist) is a depressed teenager who decides to try and get admitted to a psychiatric ward after feeling suicidal.
He’s struggling with being a gifted student, parent pressure and he’s in love with his best friend’s girlfriend. But as he gets to know the other people on the ward including Bobby (Zach Galifianakis) and Noelle (Emma Roberts), he realises his life is worth living and he needs to appreciate what he has in life.
This film was listed as a comedy drama, but I didn’t laugh once and found the movie kind of strange and pointless, but it left me with a feeling that sometimes your problems aren’t as bad as you think.
