State of Play - review

Russell Crowe stars as Cal McAffrey, an investigative reporter trying to break the case of a supposed random murder. As he digs deeper he finds himself working alongside rookie reporter Della Frye (Rachel McAdams) as their stories appear to be linked.

With the investigation gaining momentum, the murder of a congressman’s mistress – who happens to be Cal’s former college roommate - provides more twists and turns leading to an unexpected ending.

Co-starring Helen Mirren & Ben Affleck, I really enjoyed this movie as it involved journalism & mystery – 2 things that I enjoy – and kept me hooked right until the end.
