Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont - review

A sweet tale following Mrs Palfrey (Joan Plowright) a lonely widow as she moves to The Claremont Hotel in London in order to gain some independence following a stay with her daughter.

Having read about the hotel she has high hopes of her new accommodation, but after moving in she is disappointed and wonders what she has let herself in for.

However a chance meeting with a young writer called Ludo (Rupert Friend) causes a friendship to blossom and with their shared love of poetry Mrs Palfrey begins to enjoy life again.

I found this TV movie very enjoyable to watch as a sweet afternoon film, though I was slightly disappointed with the ending as I was left feeling a bit cheated and with unanswered questions.
