Jennifer Aniston is Sarah Huttinger, a successful writer
who on a trip back to her hometown with her fiancé Jeff to attend her sister’s
wedding discovers her family could have been the inspiration for the film ‘The
Graduate’.
With her grandma confirming the rumour Sarah sets off to
find the man her mother ran off to a week before her wedding and who Sarah
fears could be her natural father, but as she discovers more about her mother’s
wedding nerves she begins to realise she might not be ready for marriage
herself.
But as Sarah gets to
know Beau Burroughs (Kevin Costner) she finds herself falling for him – after
discovering he’s not her dad I hasten to add! – and becomes the 3rd
woman in her family to fall for his charms before realising that her trip away
has reaffirmed her feelings for Jeff and makes her determined to win him back.
Co-starring Shirley MacLaine & Mark Ruffalo I found this
movie, based on a real life rumour, enjoyable, but there were a few things which continue to niggle me – e.g
the timings don’t add up in relation to the years & ages, but after getting
over that I would watch it again.
