One Fine Day - review

Jack Taylor and Melanie Parker are two single working parents whose children are both excited about the school field trip, but when they both miss the boat they end up spending the day with their parents.

With Journalist Jack under pressure to complete an exclusive news story and Architect Melanie in line for a promotion if she secures a new contract, they end up juggling the child care between them, but with two small children to look after the day doesn’t run smoothly.

Despite a few mis-haps along the way including accidentally swapping phones, a trip to the doctors and one of the children going missing, both Jack and Melanie manage to save their jobs and get to the children’s soccer game on time. But with Jack beginning to fall for Melanie – helped by Maggie and Sam dropping hints during the day – will Melanie feel the same?

Starring George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer, One Fine Day is a traditional rom-com with a predictable ending, but despite this I very much enjoyed it.
