Gnomeo & Juliet - review

Featuring the music of Elton John and loosely based on the famous play of William Shakespeare, this animated version is different  - all the characters are garden gnomes!

Warring neighbours, The Montagues & Capulets each have a garden full of gnomes who when the humans are out of sight take over and have fun, but just like their owners, the gnomes don’t get on.

As they spend time racing each other on lawnmowers and competing, the blue & red hatted gnomes are determined to live their lives separately and not mix. But when Juliet notices a cupid orchid in a neighbouring garden and heads out on her own to retrieve it, she meets Gnomeo and its love at first sight.

Despite their families not getting on, Gnomeo & Juliet enjoy spending time together and realise that it doesn’t matter what colour their hats are, but when their families find out they are forced apart.

However, after a near smash experience and a cameo appearance from Mr Shakespeare himself, Gnomeo and Juliet are determined to be together, but will their families accept their love?

A fun filled adventure comedy with a host of stars providing their voices to the characters including Maggie Smith, Jason Statham, James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Ozzy Osbourne, Ashley Jenson & Michael Caine.

Great family fun which had me laughing – I’ll definitely be watching this again!
