Torn by Cat Clarke

When Alice King and her classmates head off on an adventure holiday to the Scottish highlands they have no idea that when they return home, there will be one less of them.

With an enthusiastic new teacher keen for everyone to get along, Alice is chosen to share a cabin with her best friend Cass, Rae who spends most of her time with headphones in her ears, Polly a loner who follows people around and Tara, the most popular girl in school who has no trouble being mean to everyone.

With such an eclectic groups of girls in one cabin tensions quickly rise as everyone makes it clear that they’re not happy with the arrangements, but when Cass clues Alice and the others in on a plan she has to humiliate and get back at Tara the energy is soon renewed.

As doubts start to creep in Alice tries to persuade Cass to change her mind, but when Tara goes too far, Alice agrees that she deserves what’s coming to her, but none of the girls realise just how far their revenge will take them.

A great read which had me reaching for the book at every opportunity and kept me interested in the story until the very end.
