The Town Christmas Forgot - review

Businesswoman Annie and her family are on their way to their no expense spared luxury resort holiday for the Christmas period when their car breaks down in the middle of a snow blizzard.

Rescued by friendly local Carlton, the family are introduced to Nowhere, a down on its luck town with the cafe the centre point run by enthusiastic waitress Sam.

Sam is determined to put on a Christmas pageant in a bid to unite the town despite the mayor’s objection and as the family get used to the idea that they won’t be leaving any time soon, they decide to get to know the town.

Resulting in Annie becoming involved with putting the show together, Charles spends time with Carlton as he runs a soup kitchen, teenager Trish meets a local band while young Nolan discovers a closed down toy shop and tries to get the owner to take on his previous role as Santa in time for Christmas Eve.

Once the family’s car is ready they reluctantly say goodbye to the town and set off on their planned holiday, but on the way they begin to realise that they've made friends with the locals and wonder whether they really need their expensive Christmas after all.
