Failure to Launch - review

Matthew McConaughey is Tripp, a 35 year old boat salesman who despite leading a grown up life, still lives at home with his parents.

Along with his 2 best friends Ace & Demo, who have also failed to fly the nest, Tripp doesn’t see any reason to move out of a home where he’s looked after by his mum and dad, but they have other ideas.

After discovering their friends encouraged their son to move out after hiring someone to help, Tripp’s parents give her a call in the hope of her being able to do the same for Tripp, but when Paula gets to know Tripp she realises he isn’t a usual client and is unable to stop herself falling for him.

With her feelings getting in the way, Paula tries to distance herself from Tripp, but finds herself in a relationship with the man she was hired to flirt with and ends up spending more time with him and his friends. And when Demo sees Paula on a ‘date’ with another man, he must decide whether to expose the truth and risk their relationship or keep quiet.

Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Bates, Justin Bartha, Zooey Deschanel & Bradley Cooper, this was a great rom-com which I wouldn’t hesitate to watch again.
