The Bank Job - review

Based on a true story, Jason Statham heads up a gang of amateur criminals tasked with undertaking the robbery of a bank vault on behalf of M15 in order to retrieve compromising photographs of a member of the Royal Family. Any other proceeds from the robbery can be kept.

With only the end result in sight, the gang have no idea what they’ve taken on until one of them is taken hostage and their families are threatened by porn king Ian Vogel (David Suchet) whose ledger of backhanders to police was among the goods stolen.

As the gang try and work out who they can trust, M15 face their own scandal when they get more than they bargained for from the robbery and concede that the only way for everyone to get what they want is to work together while keeping the robbery out of the press.

The Bank Job was an intriguing and gripping thriller which reminded me of Oceans Eleven.

A great movie which I wouldn’t hesitate to watch again.

One to watch.
