The Big Wedding - review

As their adopted son prepares to get married long divorced couple Don (Robert De Niro) & Ellie (Diane Keaton) are shocked when Alejandro tells them that his biological mother is coming to the wedding and due to her traditional views he never told them they got divorced.

So in order to protect her feelings and to the amusement of their other children Lyla & Jared, they decide to pretend to still be married, despite both of them having moved on years ago and Don’s partner Bebe catering the wedding.

With everyone coming together to celebrate Alejandro’s wedding, other members of his family deal with their own problems including Lila who having recently split up with her husband discovers she’s pregnant with a longed for baby, Jared a doctor who is saving himself for ‘the one’ and the family priest with traditional values who insists Alejandro & Missy make promises to raise their future children within the church.

A fun-filled comedy with an all star cast including Katherine Heigl, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams & Amanda Seyfried which I would watch again and again.

A movie to watch if you enjoy a good laugh.
