Slacker Sonny Koufax is a big kid. With a law degree, but no
job or intention to get on in life, he spends his days sleeping in and watching
people roller-blade in the park, until one day a child is left on his doorstep.
Holding a note from his mum explaining that it’s time Julian
was looked after by his dad, Sonny calls his room-mate who has just left on a
business trip to let him know that the son he never knew he had has arrived.
Open to the challenge of looking after a child in a bid to
show everyone that he’s capable of being grown up, Sonny decides to look after
Julian and revels in the chance to be able to share his childish ways and teach
him to come out of his shell.
Armed with their newly found skills of making a mess and
peeing up a wall, Julian and Sonny make a great pair, but when social services
come knocking with the knowledge that Sonny has been pretending to be Julian’s
father, they are torn apart resulting in Sonny resolving to do all he can to
bring the pair of them back together.
A hilarious comedy starring Adam Sandler & cute twins
Dylan & Cole Sprouse who share the role of Julian, Big Daddy is a simple but funny movie which I could watch again and
again.
Before this time I had never watched this movie all the way through,
only catching glimpses here and then, but now I’ve had the chance to watch the
whole thing, I wouldn’t hesitate to
watch it again.
5 stars!
