The Stepford Wives - review

When successful TV executive Joanna Eberhart (Nicola Kidman) is fired by her network she suffers a nervous breakdown prompting her husband to move the family away from the city for a fresh start ending up in Stepford.

Greeted at their new home by a happy and smiling Clare Wellington, the family are introduced to the residents of Stepford all of whom seem perfect & happy – maybe just a bit too perfect.

As Walter (Matthew Broderick) spends time with the male residents at the Men’s Association, Joanna is invited to take part in activities with the wives who spend their time ensuring their houses are perfectly clean and tidy as well as constantly cooking and making their husbands happy.

As Joanne begins to make friends with fellow residents Bobby & Roger, they all realise that something isn’t quite right with how perfect everything is , but as they start snooping around they have no idea what they’re about to discover.

Co-starring Christopher Walken, Bette Midler & Glenn Close, I enjoyed this drama which I found intriguing. It was a really interesting plot idea which I would watch again.
