Nicolas Cage plays an airline pilot in this apocalyptic
movie who has to deal with half of his passengers vanishing mid-flight while
the world below is also affected by the act of God.
As the world descends into panic, Ray’s daughter Chloe, who
recently returned from school to surprise him on his birthday, tries to work
out what happened to her mum and younger brother while also worrying about her
dad.
But as Ray gets help from passenger and investigative
reporter Buck (Chad Michael Murray) who steps in as co-pilot, all 3 of them
must work together to ensure those left behind on the plane land safely which
becomes more difficult when the fuel supply runs out.
I really enjoyed watching this thriller as it kept you gripped so you wanted to know how
it would end, but personally I felt the ending of the
movie let it down because technically the ending was only the start for the
characters as they had to adjust to living life without those who were chosen
to enter heaven by God.
I would still recommend it, as I would with any Nicolas Cage, as I feel he is one of the best actors we have the
pleasure of watching.
