Lost Letter Mysteries: Truth be told - review

When the dead letter office receives a bunch of letters badly fire damaged, they face the challenge of trying to identify the recipients and in particular the recipient of a letter which could be a young girl whose mother was lost in action in Afghanistan.

With sand found in the envelope along with the letter, the team get it analysed and discover it came from Afghanistan and after working on the letter, are convinced it’s for Phoebe, the little girl who has never given up hope of her mother returning from her tour of duty.

After the Postables deliver the letter, Phoebe asks if she can hire the team to find out more about the author of the letter as they may know something about her mum and while they do all they can to help her, Oliver must deal with the reappearance of his father.

Having not spoken to or seen each other for years, Oliver doesn’t know what to say when his dad suddenly appears, but does agree to meet up with him the next day to talk. However when he receives a message to say his father has passed away, his feelings of hurt and regret return to the surface until his father shows up at the meeting point and realises he has quite a bit of explaining to do.

As always, the Lost Letter Mysteries series is an enjoyable and easy watch. Although slightly unrealistic, they provide at least 90 minutes of fantasy and escape from the real world which everyone could do with every now and then.
