When the daughter of Federal Agent Jess Cobb is found
murdered in a dumpster next to a mosque which has been under observation by the
bureau, her world is shattered.
With a suspect identified, fellow agent Ray is
determined to bring him to justice, but despite the support of supervisor
Claire Slone (Nicole Kidman), the team are unable to bring a case against him
causing them all disappointment.
13 years later Ray is obsessed with tracking down Carolyn’s
killer and when he thinks he’s found a lead, he gets the team back together to
bring him down once and for all. But with Jess still traumatised by the loss of
her daughter and Claire now supervisor of the department, Ray has a challenge
on his hands as he goes it alone to bring peace to the case that’s haunted them
all.
But is he already closer to the truth than he realises?
Praise should be given to Julia Roberts for her powerful
portrayal as a bereaved mother and although this was a good thriller, it wasn’t
as tense as I felt it could have been and I was left disappointed.
