1st poem to be published

I found an old note book of mine earlier which had some poems in it. So i thought i'd share my first poem with everyone. I wrote it for my english GCSE coursework and then entered a competition hoping to win a prize. I didn't win but they wrote to me asking if they could publish my poem anyway. Since then i've had 3 poems published and am waiting for another book to be sent to me. Hopefully i'll get more published in the future.

This poem is copyrighted, so please don't steal it. Feel free to leave comments.

Weston

I walk down the crowded street
Rubbish flying by my feet
I stop and stare at peoples faces
Everyone in different places

I watch the cars pollute the air
The drivers look like they don't care
People rushing, driving rain
Gushing down the filthy drain

All the shops are bolted shut
Homeless people in a hut
Newspapers flying by
In the cold and rainy sky

As I cross the busy road
Ladies walk by with a load
Leaves are flowing round and round
Then they stop and hit the ground

As I walk back up the street
Rubbish still by my feet
I stop and stare at peoples faces
Now they're in the same old places
