The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson

As young girls Poppy Carlisle & Serena Gorringe were connected forever by a tragic incident - one they've had to deal with every day of their lives, but in very different ways.

Now 20 years on, Poppy wants to make sure everyone knows the truth & Serena is keen to keep the past in the past, but some secrets have a way of breaking free.

I don't know why, but I was drawn to this book after reading 2 reviews about it, even though I'd never heard of the author and with what I'd read, I thought the storyline and the age of the characters might make it hard for me to get into it. But having received it as a Christmas present, I haven't been able to out it down and feel that I've really gotten to know the characters.

A great read.
