Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes. Everyone’s heard of him and knows he lives at 221B Baker Street, but I bet no one would have guessed he’d be into bare knuckle fighting and explosives. But that’s exactly how Arthur Conon Doyle’s creation is portrayed in Guy Ritchie’s action fuelled adventure.

With no sign of the iconic deerstalker cap or pipe, Robert Downey Jr takes mystery solving to a whole new level.

With his trusted friend Watson by his side, Sherlock is thrown into investigating a mystery involving brutal murders and black magic, but with a threat to the whole country and the return of his ex-wife to confuse matters, Sherlock finds that logic and a good shooting arm are the keys to solving the mystery.

I have to admit that I love a good mystery, but I got lost halfway through and couldn’t work out what was going on. It was definitely different to how I imagined it would be, maybe too much violence and not enough searching for clues.

So I think in the future I’ll stick to Miss Marple for my mystery solving adventures.
