I really don’t know where to start with reviewing this movie
because I found it to be one of the most un-festive Christmas movies ever.
Set in New York, Susan Sarandon, Penelope Cruz & Robin
Williams star as strangers who are linked through a series of events on
Christmas Eve.
With her mother ill in
hospital Rose (Susan) has no plans other than to visit her over Christmas, but
while she’s there she meets Charlie (Robin) who has only 1 wish for Christmas –
not to be alone when he dies.
Nina (Penelope) who has just broken off her engagement due
to her fiancée suffering from extreme jealousy finds herself confiding in Rose
while out for a drink and invites her to spend Christmas Eve with her family,
but Rose finds herself drawn back to Charlie to spend time with him in his hour
of need.
I was really hoping this movie would be a lot more festive
seeing as it’s set on Christmas Eve, but it was more drama than festivities
which left me depressed instead of in a Christmas mood.
