The Rocky Horror Picture Show - review

Originally a stage show, written by & starring the genius behind The Crystal Maze – Richard O’Brien – this spoof horror comedy made me jump, laugh and want to watch it all over again.

Narrated by a criminologist – The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of Brad & Janet, a sweet college couple who having just gotten engaged embark on a visit to one of their professors. But when their car breaks down and the only salvation from the rain is a creepy castle, they are thrown into the bizarre world of Dr Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite and his group of Transylvanians.

As their host entertains them with the Time Warp & Sweet Transvestite they experience strange and unexpected goings on including the creation of Rocky Horror – a creation of Frank-N-Furter’s who along with the rest of the crew help Brad & Janet experience the bizarre & wonderful.

Starring Tim Curry (with fabulous legs), Richard O’Brien, Meat Loaf & Susan Sarandon, I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this movie but I knew I had to watch it and having enjoyed it so much, I now have tickets to see the 40th anniversary theatre tour next year – high heels and fishnets at the ready!

No matter what your usual genre of movies is, everyone should experience this movie.
