‘A house is for free expression, not first impression’ –
this is the mantra of Helen North a free-spirited handbag designer who despite
having 10 children doesn’t believe in discipline or rules. But Frank Beardsley is
a Marine Admiral who like his ships, keeps his 8 children in check with
military precision.
When former classmates Helen & Frank are re-united at a
high school reunion the old spark returns and within days they are married and
telling their children they’re all moving in together sparking outrage from all
18.
With rivalry from both sides, each family try everything
they can to cause mayhem resulting in hilarious scenes including the house
being covered in splattered paint. But when they succeed in splitting their
parents they realise that through their rivalry they’ve created a bond and
decide to unite to bring the family back together.
A good family comedy drama starring Dennis Quaid which made
me laugh out loud.
