Underclassman - review

As a young LA bike cop Tre (Nick Cannon) is itching to become a detective like his late dad and when a murder at a high school requires undercover work he gets his chance.

With a passionate yet reckless streak the captain isn’t sure Tre is ready for proper police work, but with his age as an advantage he is quickly signed up as the new kid in school.

Realising it could be an opportunity for him to complete his diploma, Tre works hard on his classes but also works his way into the cool crowd where he discovers the students are involved with an illegal car stealing ring.

Determined to impress his captain, Tre tries to work out who’s behind the ring and whether it could be linked to the death of the school reporter, but when the captain’s car is also stolen he must work hard and fast to get it back and crack the case.

Co-starring Hugh Bonneville as the high school principal, Underclassman is a fun comedy action movie which had me laughing the whole way through.
