One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern

As a fan of both Cecelia and journalism I was excited to read this novel and I wasn’t disappointed. I got slightly lost due to having gaps between reading sessions, but despite this I was eager to discover the connection between the One Hundred Names.

Kitty Logan is a journalist who without the love and support of her editor probably would have written her last story a while ago. With a scandal hanging over her head from her short stint in TV journalism, Kitty has lost all creditability and possibly her job, but Constance is willing to keep her on and trusts her to take on her most important assignment yet.

As Constance slowly succumbs to cancer she asks Kitty to write the story she wishes she had time to write, but before she can explain anything about it she passes away leaving Kitty with just a list of 100 names and the challenge of discovering the story behind them.

With her best supporter no longer around, Kitty knows she has to make Constance proud by completing her last story, but as she battles with the consequences of her last story as well as the unsupportive eye from the acting editor, Kitty must find the strength to complete Constance’s last wish and get her career back on track.

I really enjoyed this novel and was left feeling inspired to meet those around who make a difference yet go un-noticed.
