In & Out - review

Howard Brackett (Kevin Kline) is a happy go lucky high school English teacher who is counting down the days until his wedding to fellow teacher Emily Montgomery (Joan Cusack).

With the Oscars about to be presented, along with the rest of the town Howard tunes in keen to see if his former student Cameron Drake (Matt Dillon) will win Best Actor.

As the town wait for the results they’re ecstatic when Cam wins and in his acceptance speech he remembers to thank his home town and in the process of talking about his Oscar winning role outs Howard as gay sending the town into a spin.

With Howard astounded by Cam’s declaration he has to field questions from the press, his students and own family as his sexuality is called into question, but as he attempts to assert his masculinity, should he be thanking Cam for revealing the truth?

Co-starring Tom Selleck & Debbie Reynolds, although this movie was a bit dry in places, it was a good watch which explored the importance of being true to yourself.
