University student Val is shocked when she receives a letter
informing her that her financial aid will be cut, so starts thinking of ideas
to make money to stay in school.
Well to do couple Sara & Jamieson have everything they
could hope for; a loving marriage, money, good jobs but the one thing they’re
missing is a child and they’re devastated when they’re told they are unable to
conceive.
With her friend informing her about selling her eggs in return
for money, Val looks into it and discovers that for more money she could become
a surrogate and give a couple the one thing they are unable to have and is put
in touch with Sarah & Jamieson.
As they all sign up to the agreement, Val is happy to have
the support of her boyfriend and best friend and is soon pregnant much to the
delight of everyone except Jamieson’s mum Maureen who doesn’t agree the
technique they’ve chosen to have a child.
But when Sara & Jamieson are killed in an apparent car
accident, Val is left wondering what will happen to the child she’s carrying
until Maureen takes a strong interest in her welfare and will do anything to
protect her grandchild.
An afternoon drama – slightly tense in places – which was a
good watch.
