Matthew (Josh Hartnett) is a young professional about to
leave on a job in China when in a fleeting moment he thinks he’s seen Lisa, his
girlfriend who disappeared without a trace a couple of years ago.
Having left a newspaper and hotel key in the phone booth she
used, Matthew decides to pursue the girl in the hope of re-uniting with her,
but when he finally tracks her down to her apartment, he’s left disappointed. After
letting himself, he discovers a girl named Lisa does live there, but it’s not
the one he was searching for.
As his search for Lisa (Diane Kruger) goes on, his trip to
China is postponed and he puts all his energy into finding her, but having spent
the night with the girl in the apartment, he is also juggling his feelings about
their brief encounter as well as relying on his friend Luke to help him make up
his mind about what to do.
With his heart set on trying to discover why Lisa left
without a trace, he’s determined to do all he can to find her, but with the new
Lisa (Rose Byrne) in his life trying to persuade him to forget her, is it just
coincidence that they found each other at the moment Matthew thought he saw his
Lisa?
I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was well written.
Although I was hoping for a bit more drama when I worked out how everything
tied together, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment. Now that I’ve seen it once, I
probably wouldn’t watch it again as the mystery has now been discovered, but I
would definitely recommend it.
