Skyfall - review

Having seen all the James Bond movies, I have to say that Daniel Craig is not my favourite as the lead character, but I felt this movie suited him well (Pierce Brosnan was the Bond of my generation).

In Judi Dench’s last appearance as M, I enjoyed Skyfall as although there were parts of it set in different countries, the bulk of it was set here in England and focussed on the agency of MI6 itself rather than foreign enemies.

Starring Javier Bardem, in a dodgy blond wig, as a disgruntled former agent whose aim is to take revenge on the agency for giving him up years before, Bond’s mission is closer to home this time as he is forced to protect the agency he works for as well as his boss against the threat of attack.

This movie was a fitting tribute to a great British actress who despite having appeared in many other movies and productions, will always be known to many people as M – a woman in charge in a man’s world who won’t take any messing.
