Tom Hanks is Forrest Gump, a lovable young man with a low
IQ who during his life experiences many historical events.
Raised by his mama in Greenbow Alabama and needing the use
of leg splints, Forrest struggles to fit in with the other children, but one
day finds a friend in Jenny Curran who remains a friend throughout his life.
With someone he can trust and spend time with, Forrest
begins to enjoy life and finds a talent for running, soon becoming a member of
his high school football team as well as taking part in ping-pong
championships.
As his education finishes, Forrest joins the army and connecting
with fellow new recruit Bubba, they join the war in Vietnam and share dreams of
what to do afterwards, but when Forrest finds himself alone again after being
injured, he finds a new path in life.
Always keeping in touch with his mama and Jenny, Forrest
finds his way through life by doing what he’s good at and helping others while
also finding himself inspiring new crazes such as creating the smiley face and
running across America for 3 years, but while all of his achievements are
great, his only ambition in life is to be with Jenny – his true and best friend.
This movie was one of those which I never had the
opportunity to watch until now. As a fan of Tom Hanks, it surprised me that
this movie managed to escape my viewing, but now that I’ve seen it I would
watch it again and again.
Co-starring Sally Field, Gary Sinise & Robin Wright, Forrest Gump is such a sweet tale of how true love can last no matter
what happens in life and I found it both inspirational and emotional.
