Hidden Treasure aka Buried Treasure - review

In his last acting role before his death, John Thaw stars as Harry Jenkins, a widowed businessman who is shocked when he’s informed his estranged daughter has died and left behind a daughter – his granddaughter.

With no contact between the pair, Harry had no idea his daughter was living so close for the past few years or that she had a child, so when he’s informed that he is now her legal guardian, he has a challenge on his hands.

As his normal routine of work and playing golf is interrupted by the arrival of Saffron, Harry decides she is best placed with her father – the only problem is that no one can contact him. But when Saffron tells him she knows where he lives in London, the pair of them set off on a road trip to the capital to track him down resulting in the discovery of a whole new family for both of them.

This TV drama was a sweet tale of how the arrival of a new challenge can change your outlook on life.

As a fan of John Thaw from his Inspector Morse days & Goodnight Mister Tom, I enjoyed the story being told and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
