Only You - review

Faith (Marisa Tomei) has always believed in destiny and that everyone has a soul-mate. So when as a child the name ‘Damon Bradley’ is spelt out on an Ouija board and a fairground psychic also confirms the name, she’s convinced he is the one for her.

Years later as a newly engaged young woman, Faith has never forgotten the name spelt out during her childhood, so when she answers the phone to a man with the name of ‘Damon Bradley’, she sets off with her best friend Kate (Bonnie Hunt) to track him down.

Still wearing her wedding dress from a fitting, the only clue Faith has is that Damon is on his way to Venice, so with her best friend by her side they set off to find him in the hope that Faith will meet her soul-mate, but when they discover shortly after arriving that he has already checked out of his hotel they face a race across Italy to find the man Faith is destined to be with.

But with Faith convinced Damon Bradley is the only one for her, is her obsession clouding her judgement of love when another man presents himself to her?

This rom-com was slightly unrealistic in places, but enjoyable just the same.

With stunning views of both Venice & Rome – although the famous Trevi Fountain wasn’t featured – throughout the movie, it convinced me that I need to visit Italy one day and who knows; just like Faith maybe I’ll meet my true love!
