Guilty at 17 - review

When Tracey supports her friend Devon by pretending to have witnessed a teacher inappropriately touching her, they have no idea how far their allegations will go.

As the teacher is arrested and suspended from work, Devon is glad her ordeal is over, but when news reaches them that Mr Atkins has committed suicide, Tracey doesn’t think she can keep up the lie.

Meanwhile Mr Atkins’s daughter June returns from a teaching job in Uganda to the news her father is dead, but when she discovers certain things don’t add up she turns detective to prove her father was innocent and murdered.

With Devon telling her to keep quiet, Tracey silently struggles with her guilt until new substitute teacher Miss Gailey seems someone she can trust and she admits her lie, but while she lied about being a witness, was Mr Atkins guilty anyway?

This TV movie was a good watch although predictable showing how dangerous lies can be.
