Missing at 17 - review

When Candace storms out of science class due to an argument with her teacher, she has no idea that it will lead to her questioning her whole existence.

Her teacher was informing the class about the colour of parents’ eyes and how 2 people with the same colour eyes can’t have a child with a different colour, but that can’t be true as Candace’s parents have different colour eyes to her. So when she questions this with her mum she’s shocked to discover it’s true and that she’s adopted.

Not interested in listening to her mum, she quickly storms out of the house and finds an ally in Toby, a handsome stranger who allows her to stay with him – and his criminal friends – while she gets her head together.

While she’s with him Candace is determined to find her biological mother to discover why she gave her up and hires a private detective to find her. But although she’s mad at her adoptive mother for lying to her, as she gets mixed up with Toby and his criminal activity, she soon realises that her mother only wanted to protect her.

This TV drama wasn’t as good as I’d hoped and the ending felt forced – I wouldn’t recommend it.
