Deck the Halls - review

Optician Steve Finch loves the Christmas season and as soon as December begins, he has the Christmas calendar ready. Known as the ‘man of Christmas’ in his town Steve loves his family traditions, but when a new family move in across the street, he soon faces competition for the best Christmas decorations.

As Buddy Hall and his family start to decorate their house with lights, Steve soon becomes jealous as Buddy’s plan for his house to be seen from space encourages him to decorate more which further infuriates Steve.

With the competition on, Steve does all he can to sabotage Buddy’s efforts, but when their families move out to a motel, they soon realise the meaning of Christmas isn’t about competition and work together to start trying to win them back in time for Christmas day.

Starring Danny DeVito & Matthew Broderick as the warring neighbours, this Christmas comedy was an enjoyable watch which really got me in the festive spirit.
