Pitch Perfect - review

Budding DJ Becca has no interest in joining a group when she starts college, but as she walks around the campus during the activity fair, she’s asked to join an acapella group.

With her focus only on mixing music, she politely declines but when she’s overheard singing in the shower by a member of the group, she finds herself signing up.

With her head and heart already in LA producing music, Becca tries to fit into college life and becomes more determined to succeed when her dad tells her that if she sticks it out for a year and still doesn’t like it then he’ll help her move to LA.

Working as an intern at the campus radio station alongside practice with the group, Becca meets Benji, a fellow singer who vows to show her the power of music in movies and when she learns the competition that comes with acapella singing, she sees an opportunity to combine her love of music with making friends resulting in a battle to win top spot at the national finals.

This laugh out loud comedy didn’t thrill me as much as I thought it would despite Rebel Wilson doing her best to keep the comedy going. I definitely want to watch Pitch Perfect 2, but I wouldn’t watch this first outing again.
