Magic in the moonlight - review

As a magician, Stanley Crawford’s career revolves around deceiving people into believing he can perform magic tricks, but if there’s one thing Stanley doesn’t like, it’s people claiming to be mediums and psychics and so sets out to expose them.

Along with his fellow magician and friend Howard, Stanley has built up a reputation for uncovering fake mediums, but when Howard invites him to spend time with Sophie, a young psychic claiming to help a family in the south of France, he finds his skills tested.

With seemingly real insight into things she has no way of knowing, Stanley finds it difficult to not believe she’s real and finds himself falling for her charm. But as someone who has spent his whole life not believing in the psychic world, can this young girl really change his view and prove that psychics do exist?

Starring Colin Firth, Eileen Atkins and Emma Stone, this rom-com set in 1920’s France was an enjoyable watch which I would recommend and also watch again.
