Beauty & the briefcase - review

Writer Lane Daniels (Hilary Duff) has 2 ambitions – to write for Cosmopolitan and meet the ‘perfect man’. With a fashion photographer as her best friend, it’s not long before Lane secures an interview with Cosmopolitan and is hired to write a story about finding love in the business world, but it comes with a catch – she must get a job in finance to find a man.

As a fashion addict Lane has no idea about finance, but determined to make a good impression she throws herself into the corporate world and spends her spare time dating the men in the office in an attempt to find the one. But as Lane looks for her man in a suit, Liam a young British music producer catches her eye and while she knows she should be dating someone else, she can’t resist his charms and gives in.

While Lane spends time with Liam she continues to try and find someone to base her article on and decides Seth, a cute co-worker will do, but when her boss Tom discovers she’s undercover and Liam turns out to be fake, Lane has a problem on her hands.

With no boyfriend, no job and an article still due, Lane tries to convince her editor to change the angle of her story and decides to stop dating, but as she tries to move on from both she discovers that there is someone in finance who stole her heart after all – could he be the one to save the day?

A predictable cheesy rom-com which I wouldn’t watch again.
