The Heist - review

As a security guard at Boston’s Art Museum, Roger Barlow (Christopher Walken) is used to watching the paintings and sculptures all day, but there is one in particular that’s caught his eye – The Lonely Maiden.

With a thoughtful look in her eye, the lone subject of the painting intrigues Roger to the point where he doesn’t go a day without visiting her and he’s not the only one with an interest in the exhibits.

Fellow security guards Charles (Morgan Freeman) and George (William H Macy) also have their favourites, so when they find out the pieces are to be moved to Denmark, they decide to take matters into their own hands and come up with a plan to keep the exhibits for their eyes only.

The premise of this movie excited me, but I was left disappointed as there was no real action or drama – nothing to keep me gripped or interested. I found it to be a boring, dry and poorly acted movie with the skills of 3 great actors not being used to their best ability.

This movie tried desperately to be a gripping heist story, but it fell way too short of this ambition.

0 stars – not worth watching.
