Naughty or Nice - review

Krissy Kringle lives on Candy Cane Lane and every year is subjected to jokes about her name – she also receives a lot of letters for Santa sent by children with their wish lists included.

Used to the taunts, Krissy refuses to let it get to her as she heads to work at a PR firm with the belief she’ll be receiving a promotion, so it shocked when she’s fired.

As she struggles to digest the news, back home Krissy tidies away the mountain of letters received that morning and comes across a package which catches her attention. Inside is a book called ‘Naughty or Nice’ which when Krissy looks through it is blank, but as she argues with her plumber over the phone and says his name out loud, the pages begin to turn to reveal he is lying to her.

With this new found piece of magic, Krissy finds herself discovering the wrongdoings of people she knows and sets out to expose them. But with Christmas so close she also needs to find a job and reluctantly takes up a position at the mall as an elf.

Making friends with Marco and sharing her secret, Krissy tolerates her new position in the working world and with the help of the book discovers things which make it better, but when she ruins her relationship after confronting her boyfriend about something she read, she discovers there’s another side to the book – the nice list.

As Krissy realises there are always two sides to everything, she knows what she has to do to make amends, but will she be able to achieve everything in time for Christmas and make up with her boyfriend in the hope of receiving something she’s always wanted – a new last name?

This was a pleasant and enjoyable TV movie which showed that no matter what you know about someone, there are always two sides to every story.
