The Case for Christmas - review

Up in the North Pole, Santa Claus is busily getting ready for the holiday season along with his team of elves so is surprised when an employee of a lawyers firm turns up and serves him with legal papers – he’s being sued.

The person responsible for the lawsuit is Braxton Bennett, a highly successful businessman who feels Santa is responsible for his unhappy childhood by not giving him the presents he asked for, but the one thing he needed wasn’t something Santa could provide – the love of his parents.

As Santa leaves his workshop to fight his case, he recruits widowed and struggling lawyer Michael Sherman after meeting his daughter Lily in the courthouse snack room and begins to build his defence, but desperate as he may be for clients Michael is sceptical of his chances of winning as he doesn’t believe Santa Claus is real.

With Braxton recruiting more and more people to testify against Santa, Michael has a fight on his hands with the case being described as the biggest in history, but as he and Lily spend more time with Santa and get to know his head elf Charlie, he begins to wonder whether Santa Claus really does exist.

This was a festive family fun comedy which was just what I needed to get me into the Christmas spirit.

An enchanting movie which I could watch again and again.
