Justice for Natalee Holloway - review

To be perfectly honest, this TV drama didn’t grab me at all.

Based on a true story, this movie follows Natalee’s mother Beth as she continues her search for the truth about what happened to her daughter after she didn’t return from a school trip to Aruba in 2005.

Following both Beth and Joran – the main suspect in the disappearance – this movie had split screens showing both parties at the same time and jumped around from country to country and year to year making it difficult to follow.

With the case of Natalee’s disappearance still unsolved in real life, the movie didn’t have an ending which allowed you to fully understand what happened as no one actually knows, but it did show the heartache any parent must face when they don’t know what happened to their child as they don’t know whether to hold out hope or start to grieve.

While I understand this TV movie aimed to tell the story of Natalee’s disappearance from her mother’s point of view and get her story known, I was confused and bored throughout most of it - although it did make me look up the real disappearance, which was probably the aim of the movie all along.
