Irresistable - review

Susan Sarandon stars as Sophie Hartley, a wife and mother who is convinced her husband’s work colleague Mara is stalking her.

With the grief of losing her mother still raw, Sophie tries to focus on her art and family, but when things start to go missing and Mara becomes too close for comfort, Sophie is determined to prove she is being targeted.

As she turns stalker herself to prove her point, her family begin to worry about her state of mind to the point where her husband welcomes Mara’s input and help, but with Sophie still convinced she is trying to take over, is Mara really that much of a stranger?

Set in Australia and starring Emily Blunt with an Australian accent, I really wanted to see how this movie would turn out and was satisfied with the ending, but I wouldn’t rush to watch it again.

The Five Year Engagement - review

As Tom (Jason Segel) and Violet (Emily Blunt) head to a restaurant for dinner, Violet has no idea Tom plans to propose and when he does she has no hesitation in saying yes, but with work commitments and the couple moving states, they decide to put the wedding on hold.

With Violet caught up in work and Tom not enjoying their new surroundings, the couple begin to drift apart and wonder whether they are truly meant to be together.

But when Violet’s boss Winton (Rhys Ifans) expresses his attraction to her and she sees how miserable Tom is, she soon realises that despite waiting 5 years for the perfect opportunity to come along for their wedding, Tom is the man she wants to be with.

An enjoyable but predictable rom-com, which was slightly too long meaning I was beginning to get bored towards the end.
